The 2018 Academy Awards are now over and now folks are talking about what did and didn't happen during the awards ceremony. Shade against Mario Lopez (?), Hooters, Mel Gibson, and Harvey Weinstein was thrown around by host Jimmy Kimmel, but these remarks were limited to the show's opening monologue. There were only two or three “Trump” jokes and overtly partisan political statements were kept at a minimum, supposedly at the vigorous request of the Academy board who was allegedly afraid of losing viewers. That happened anyway considering the ratings were at an all-time low (down 19% from last year, which was also low) according to Nielsen audience measurements...![]()
