The 1983 Academy Award-winning thriller “WarGames” has earned a place in cinema history as not only a beloved film of its time, but also as a dire warning about nuclear weapons and the dependence of fallible computer systems to operate these weapons. The film featured a young Matthew Broderick as a precocious high school computer nerd who hacks into a secure mainframe to play some video game prototypes, but ends up inadvertently accessing a NORAD nuclear war simulation program, nearly setting off World War III in the process. It may shock many people to know a spin-off of “WarGames” has just been released but it is not a traditional movie that you can see in the theater or watch on Netflix...
